Billed as the smart food choice, we stumbled upon NRG Cavern in Bath Place, Worthing, while having a coffee next door. Impressed by the gluten-free options available, a quick chat with one of the lovely staff members resulted in a promise to return later in the week. We weren’t disappointed.
Our daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease less than a year ago, and one of her favourite things to do was eat out. But – as many of you will know – the struggle with finding legit gluten-free establishments has put us off several times. Enjoying our holiday in West Sussex, we were determined to find a place that could cater to our needs.
While myself and my partner enjoyed alternative options (with gluten), including the cleanest full-grilled breakfast I’ve ever tasted, my daughter could choose from mouth-watering delights such as the NRG Buddha Power Bowl, Pea & Mint Falafel and Sweet Potato Salad Bowl, Soup of the Day or a vast selection of gluten-free sandwiches. She plumped for their Banana Pancakes. I mean, she is five.
Our daughter demolished her pancakes and, with no adverse reaction afterward, told us they were the best pancakes she’d ever eaten. We’ll take that. NRG Cavern is available to hire for birthday parties too, so if you’re looking for a venue to host your gluten-free gala and live in that neck of the woods, you’d be wise to get in touch.
